Code execution via unchecked SSID stack copy
Published Feb 22, 2026 · Updated Feb 22, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda HG9 300001138 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or crash the web service. The formWlanSetup function passes the user-controlled ssid value from boaGetVar to strcpy without checking its length before copying it into a 33-byte stack buffer. Low-privileged access to the network management interface is required; an oversized SSID can overwrite the return address, enabling code execution or a management-service crash.
