Browser script execution via unencoded widget labels
Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026
Cross-site scripting in HumHub's Button component in 1.18.0 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through crafted labels. Button, Link, Badge, and DropdownMenu rendered label values as HTML by default instead of encoding untrusted text. A vulnerable view or extension must pass attacker-controlled text into one of these widgets, after which the script runs in a viewer's browser.
