App denial-of-service via Accelerate bounds error
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
An out-of-bounds read in Accelerate in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS before 26.5 allows attackers to cause a denial-of-service. The Accelerate component reads beyond an allocated boundary because the affected code does not adequately validate bounds before accessing memory. An app must reach the affected Accelerate functionality; Apple reports denial-of-service but does not disclose the responsible function, attacker-controlled input, or whether the app or operating system terminates.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
