Screen capture via camera metadata access
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
Improper access control in Status Bar in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 18.7.9 or 26.5 and visionOS before 26.5 allows local users to capture screens. The Status Bar component uses inadequate logic when an app accesses camera metadata, permitting that app to obtain screen content. A locally installed app with low privileges is required; Apple has not disclosed the exact metadata field or failed authorization decision.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
