Application crash via insufficient file checks
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in Apple CoreServices across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS allows attackers to crash an app via a crafted file. CoreServices performs insufficient checks while processing the file, but Apple has not disclosed the affected parser, file format, or exact invalid condition. The file must reach a CoreServices consumer and be processed; the documented consequence is termination of that app, not a system-wide outage.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <18.7.9
