System termination via ppp use-after-free
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Use-after-free in ppp in Apple macOS Sonoma before 14.8.8, Sequoia before 15.7.8, and Tahoe before 26.6 allows local users to crash the system. Apple identifies the ppp component but has not disclosed the freed object, stale reference, or operation that later dereferences it. Execution of an app on the Mac is required, and successful exploitation interrupts availability by terminating the operating system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
