Gatekeeper bypass via crafted ZIP file handling
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
Security-control bypass in affected Apple macOS releases allows attackers to evade Gatekeeper through a maliciously crafted ZIP archive. The zip component mishandles archive files because of an undisclosed logic error; affected releases are Sonoma before 14.8.8, Sequoia before 15.7.8, and Tahoe before 26.5. Exploitation requires user interaction with the archive and lets its contents evade Gatekeeper checks, with no reported direct data-access or service-interruption impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
