CVE-2026-28909Network attack vector

Credential exposure via hostname prefix matching

Published Apr 30, 2026 · Updated Apr 30, 2026

Credential exposure in Apple container 0.12.1 through 0.12.2 allows remote attackers to read registry credentials over HTTP. The isInternalHost function uses string-prefix matching, so names such as localhost.evil.com are incorrectly treated as internal and assigned HTTP. Exploitation requires interaction with an attacker-controlled registry under the default --scheme auto setting; login, pull, and push credentials can be disclosed.
