CVE-2026-28877

Sensitive data access via Accounts state mismanagement

Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026

Authorization failure in Accounts in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, and watchOS allows local apps to access sensitive user data. Apple identifies the Accounts component and faulty state management but has not disclosed the state transition that bypasses authorization. A locally running app is required; published assessments disagree on prior privileges versus user interaction, and the disclosed consequence is read-only exposure.
