CVE-2026-28817

Sandbox escape via Printing race condition

Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026

A race condition in the Printing component of Apple macOS allows local sandboxed processes to circumvent sandbox restrictions. Apple identifies improper state handling during concurrent Printing operations but has not disclosed the affected function or the state transition that loses synchronization. Exploitation requires code already running inside a macOS sandbox and permits that process to act beyond its assigned sandbox restrictions.
