Unauthenticated shell access via hardcoded SSH credentials
Published Mar 4, 2026 · Updated Mar 4, 2026
Hardcoded credentials in the monitor account on the IDC SFX2100 Satellite Receiver allow remote attackers to obtain SSH access. The appliance accepts the undocumented monitor:12345 credential over SSH and places the session in a restricted shell whose PATH can be changed or whose commands can be invoked by absolute paths. Network reachability to SSH is sufficient; escaping the restriction provides standard shell functionality under the monitor account.
