Out-of-bounds read or write via DIB size overflow
Published Mar 9, 2026 · Updated Mar 9, 2026
Integer overflow in ImageMagick 7 before 7.1.2-16 and ImageMagick 6 before 6.9.13-41 allows remote attackers to read or write past a DIB buffer. ReadDIBImage multiplies attacker-controlled column, bit-depth, and row values without overflow checks before calculating scan-line and allocation lengths. A network-reachable integration that accepts crafted DIB content is required, without authentication or user interaction; exploitation discloses or corrupts process memory or interrupts the process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
