Service interruption via freed-memory read in MSL
Published Mar 9, 2026 · Updated Mar 9, 2026
Heap use-after-free in ImageMagick 7 before 7.1.2-16 and 6 before 6.9.13-41 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via an MSL file. The MSL decoder performs an eight-byte read from freed heap storage while parsing the crafted file. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the published impact is limited to service availability and no failure mode is specified.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
