Local information disclosure via ContactsPickerActivity overlay
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Information disclosure in Android 17 ContactsPickerActivity allows local users to expose contact data through an overlay attack. The activity's onCreate path presents a misleading tapjacking overlay around the contacts picker, exposing locally stored information handled by that interface. A malicious application must execute locally on the device; no additional execution privileges or user interaction is required, and no integrity or availability impact is reported.
