CVE-2026-28606

Remote privilege escalation via skipped Bluetooth pairing

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

Elevation of privilege in Google Android 15, 16, 16-qpr2, and 17 allows remote attackers to bypass Bluetooth pairing. The handleBondStateChanged method in AdapterService.java processes a bond-state change with logic that skips the required pairing step. No prior privileges or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation grants remote elevated privileges on the device.
