Authenticated web-server crash via unchecked submit-url copy
Published Feb 20, 2026 · Updated Feb 20, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DWR-M960 1.01.07 allows remote authenticated users to crash its web server via formFilter. The sub_424AFC handler copies the request-controlled submit-url value into the fixed-size wizard_htm buffer with strcpy and no length check. The vulnerable path requires a save_apply POST; the published reproduction crashes boa and leaves the device unreachable, while code execution is not demonstrated.
