Subscriber-level post moderation bypass via nonce-only AJAX
Published Feb 28, 2026 · Updated Feb 28, 2026
Missing authorization in gVectors Team wpForo Forum 2.4 through 2.4.15 allows remote authenticated users to alter any post's approval state. The wpforo_approve_ajax handler accepts an arbitrary post ID after checking only a valid nonce, without verifying the caller's moderation permission. Subscriber-level access and a valid nonce are sufficient to approve or unapprove forum content, bypassing moderation without broader account privileges.
