Configuration modification via unchecked LDAP settings write

Published Feb 27, 2026 · Updated Feb 27, 2026

Missing authorization in openDCIM 23.04 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify LDAP configuration via installer endpoints. The install.php and container-install.php LDAP handlers pass request values to Config::UpdateParameter when ldapaction is Set without first requiring SiteAdmin privileges. Any signed-in account can rewrite LDAP server, directory, session, and access settings; deployments that set REMOTE_USER without enforcing authentication also expose the write without credentials.
