Resource exhaustion in affected GitLab CE/EE releases allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service through Bitbucket imports. The Bitbucket Server importer accepts repeated large endpoint responses without a rate limit, allowing request-driven resource allocation to accumulate. A valid GitLab account is required; sustained large responses exhaust resources and interrupt service without affecting data confidentiality or integrity.
