Command execution via unsanitized backup filename
Published Feb 27, 2026 · Updated Feb 27, 2026
OS command injection in WeGIA before 3.6.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through database backup restoration. The config_funcoes.php restore function concatenates the uploaded filename into tar and mysql command strings and passes the combined string to shell_exec without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Restoration requires administrative access, but the published exploit chains an authentication bypass and runs commands as the www-data user.
