Code execution via unsanitized export paths
Published Apr 3, 2026 · Updated Apr 3, 2026
Path traversal in Stackfield Desktop App before 1.10.2 allows remote authenticated users to write files via a crafted export. DecryptBackup derives an output directory from attacker-controlled filePath and fileGuid values, and addLocalFile joins it to the export base without rejecting traversal sequences. The attacker must share a room with the victim to obtain its encryption key, and code execution follows only after the victim imports the encrypted export and the written file reaches an execution path.
