CVE-2026-28317Network attack vector

Domain-admin privilege escalation via user-controlled object reference

Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026

IDOR in SolarWinds Serv-U 15.5.4 HF1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges via administrative object references. Serv-U accepts a user-controlled object key without enforcing the intended object-level authorization, but SolarWinds has not identified the affected key, object, or request. Exploitation requires domain administrator access; the resulting privilege level is undisclosed, and the assessed impact is lower on Windows than Linux.
