Broken access control in SolarWinds Serv-U 15.5.4 HF1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create system administrator accounts. SolarWinds has not disclosed which account-creation request or missing authorization check permits the administrative boundary to be crossed. Domain administrator privileges are required; successful exploitation establishes a new system administrator identity, and the vendor reports lower impact on Windows deployments.
