CVE-2026-28291Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Command execution via disguised Git clone options

Published Apr 13, 2026 · Updated Apr 13, 2026

OS command injection in simple-git before 3.32.0 allows attackers controlling Git options to execute arbitrary commands. The block-unsafe-operations plugin rejects literal -u and --upload-pack arguments but passes combined Git clone switches such as -vu to the native Git process. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled clone options; on Linux, Git interprets the disguised switch and launches the supplied command even when allowUnsafePack is false.
