CVE-2026-28267

Protected-directory file overwrite via fixed serial filenames

Published Mar 9, 2026 · Updated Mar 9, 2026

Incorrect default permissions in multiple Digital Arts filtering products allow local users to create or overwrite files in protected directories. The affected programs write the fixed filenames serial.txt or serial.vbx into a selected system or backup directory despite normal access restrictions. Exploitation requires a local non-administrative account and is limited to at most two files, with no confirmed disclosure or direct denial of service.
