Contributor-level media uploads via missing capability check
Published Apr 4, 2026 · Updated Apr 4, 2026
Authorization bypass in Kadence Blocks 3.6.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to upload images through a REST endpoint. The process_pattern handler accepts remote image URLs and creates Media Library attachments without verifying the upload_files capability. Contributor-level access is required, and the bounded impact is unauthorized image creation in the site's WordPress Media Library.
