CVE-2026-2825Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unsafe HTML reconversion

Published Feb 20, 2026 · Updated Feb 20, 2026

Stored XSS in the Article module of rachelos WeRSS 1.4.0 through 1.4.8 allows remote authenticated users to persist scripts in articles. The fix_html pipeline cleans HTML, converts it to Markdown, and regenerates HTML without sanitizing the regenerated output, allowing dangerous markup to reappear. An authenticated author must store crafted content and another user must view it, limiting the reported consequence to script execution and integrity changes in the browser context.
