CVE-2026-28201Network attack vector

Database record manipulation via unsanitized order_by parameter

Published May 7, 2026 · Updated May 7, 2026

SurrealQL injection in Open Notebook 1.8.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter or delete database records via a crafted URL. The GET /api/notebooks endpoint interpolates the unvalidated order_by query parameter directly into a SurrealQL query, permitting arbitrary database commands. Exploitation requires a legitimate user to open the URL; default CORS settings also expose record data to the attacker's origin.
