Arbitrary file read via unrestricted token path
Published Mar 11, 2026 · Updated Mar 11, 2026
Arbitrary file read in affected HashiCorp Consul and Consul Enterprise releases allows remote authenticated users to read server files. The Vault Connect CA provider accepts operator-controlled token_path values without restricting them to service-account token directories, reads the referenced file, and transmits its contents to Vault as JWT data. Exploitation requires operator write permission and a Connect CA configuration that uses Vault with Kubernetes authentication; disclosure is limited to files readable by the Consul server process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
