CVE-2026-27970Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via unsanitized ICU translation attributes

Published Feb 26, 2026 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Cross-site scripting in Google Angular's i18n pipeline allows context-dependent attackers to execute JavaScript through malicious ICU translations. The walkIcuTree path in packages/core/src/render3/i18n/i18n_parse.ts treated nonbinding ICU translation attributes as safe and emitted their names and values without applying the existing attribute allowlist or URI handling. Exploitation requires control of an application's translation file, use and rendering of Angular i18n ICU messages, and absence of an effective CSP or Trusted Types policy; successful code runs in the application origin and can steal accessible credentials or alter page content.
