Authenticated privilege escalation via falsey verification values
Published Feb 27, 2026 · Updated Feb 27, 2026
Improper authentication in Statamic CMS 6.0.0 through 6.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to obtain elevated sessions. ElevatedSessionController treats PHP-falsey password, verification-code, or passkey identifier values as absent, then elevates the session without verifying them. Control Panel access is required; the elevated session reaches sensitive functions such as role editing, user management, and two-factor authentication settings.
