Event-loop stall via nested extglob quantifiers

Regular expression denial of service in affected minimatch releases allows attackers to stall Node.js through nested extglob patterns. The default minimatch() parser converts nested *() or +() groups into regular expressions containing nested unbounded quantifiers, causing catastrophic V8 backtracking on short nonmatching input. Exploitation requires control of the glob pattern supplied by a consuming application; a successful pattern blocks that application's event loop for seconds to minutes without reading or altering data.
