Administrator escalation via unrestricted IsAdmin profile update
Published Feb 26, 2026 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Incorrect authorization in h44z WireGuard Portal before 2.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access. The self-profile PUT handler binds the full JSON body to the user model and writes the client-controlled IsAdmin value because protected-field preservation omits that field. Any authenticated non-admin account can persist the change, then gain full control of portal users, API tokens, and WireGuard peers after a new session.
