Host process crash via unbounded response buffering
Published Feb 26, 2026 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Unbounded resource allocation in spinframework Spin, SpinKube, and Containerd Shim Spin allows remote authenticated users to crash hosts. The runtime buffers entire database or HTTP responses through multiple WIT interfaces without limiting host-side allocations. Reachability requires untrusted guest content or access to a server that returns unbounded responses; exhaustion panics and crashes the host process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
