CVE-2026-27830Public exploit

Code execution via deserialized userOverridesAsString references

Published Feb 26, 2026 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Code injection in Machinery For Change, LLC c3p0 before 0.12.0 allows attackers to execute code via crafted serialized objects. ConnectionPoolDataSource implementations hex-decode and deserialize the writable userOverridesAsString property, then dereference embedded javax.naming.Reference objects that can load an ObjectFactory from a remote factoryClassLocation. Exploitation requires a path to reset that property or supply a crafted serialized or JNDI reference, and successful execution runs attacker-chosen code in the application JVM.
