Netmonitor panel crash via prototype-key form data
Published Feb 24, 2026 · Updated Feb 24, 2026
Prototype-key handling in affected Firefox and Thunderbird releases allows remote attackers to crash the Netmonitor panel via crafted form data. RequestPanel.js getProperties() reduces parsed fields into a plain object, so a proto field resolves to Object.prototype and the code calls its nonexistent push method. The user must open Developer Tools, select Network, inspect the crafted request, and view its Request panel; the documented consequence is a panel crash, not browser-level code execution.
