Authenticated root command execution via unquoted diff paths
Published Mar 17, 2026 · Updated Mar 17, 2026
Command injection in Roxy-WI before 8.2.6.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands on the application host. The compare_config path passes attacker-controlled left and right file names into an unquoted /bin/diff command executed through subprocess.Popen with shell=True. Any authenticated account with access to HAProxy, NGINX, Apache, or Keepalived configuration comparison can run commands as root and fully compromise the host.
