CVE-2026-27798

Information disclosure via undersized wavelet buffer allocation

Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026

Heap buffer over-read in ImageMagick before 6.9.13-40 and 7.0.0 through 7.1.2-14 allows local users to disclose process memory. WaveletDenoiseImage allocates three column-width pixel planes although its processing requires four, so small images cause reads beyond the heap allocation. Exploitation requires local invocation of wavelet denoising on a crafted small-dimension image; the published impact is limited to confidentiality.
