Code execution via unrestricted remote factory loading
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Code injection in Machinery For Change, LLC mchange-commons-java before 0.4.0 allows attackers to execute code through crafted JNDI references. ReferenceableUtils.referenceToObject trusts the Reference factoryClassLocation, creates a URLClassLoader for that URL, and initializes its named factory class. Exploitation requires a consuming application to resolve the crafted Reference or deserialize an object that reaches this path, plus outbound access to retrieve the class.
