Unauthenticated account registration via faulty Jellyfin guard
Published Feb 27, 2026 · Updated Feb 27, 2026
Authentication bypass in Seerr 2.0.0 through 3.0.1 allows remote attackers to register accounts through the Jellyfin login endpoint. In server/routes/auth.ts, the guard incorrectly treats an empty stored Jellyfin address as permission to continue and accepts attacker-supplied server details. Exposure requires a Plex-configured instance with Jellyfin never configured and new Plex login enabled; successful abuse grants a default session able to submit media requests.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
