Crash and memory disclosure via unterminated profile text
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in iccDEV 2.3.1.4 and earlier allows local users to crash profile-processing tools via crafted XML profile data. CIccTagTextDescription::GetBuffer records the allocation without its null terminator, allowing Release() to pass unterminated parsed text to strlen and read beyond the heap buffer. Exploitation requires a user to open or convert supplied XML or profile data; the bounded outcomes are an invoked-tool crash and adjacent heap-memory disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
