Arbitrary file write via parent symlink race
Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026
Race condition in OpenClaw before 2026.3.2 allows local users to write files outside the ZIP extraction directory. In src/infra/archive.ts, output paths are validated before a later open-and-truncate step, leaving parent symlinks free to be rebound before the write. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and winning a high-complexity race; successful writes can overwrite files reachable by the OpenClaw process and interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
