Memory corruption via JIT use-after-free
Published Feb 24, 2026 · Updated Feb 24, 2026
JIT use-after-free in Firefox before 148, Firefox ESR before 140.8, and Thunderbird before 148 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory. Mozilla has not published the freed object, the JIT operation that retains or reuses it, or the JavaScript pattern that reaches the fault. Exposure requires processing attacker-controlled JavaScript; Thunderbird's 140 release line is affected before 140.8.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
