Stored XSS via unsanitized inline SVG attachments
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Stored XSS in Vikunja before 2.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through malicious SVG task attachments. The server stores SVG content without sanitizing script elements or event handlers and serves the attachment inline under the application origin. Exploitation requires another authenticated user to open the direct attachment URL, exposing that user's browser-accessible token and session actions.
