CVE-2026-27568Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unsafe Markdown link rendering

Published Feb 24, 2026 · Updated Feb 24, 2026

Stored XSS in video comments in WWBN AVideo before 21.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through a crafted Markdown link. The markDownToHTML function passes comment text to Parsedown without Safe Mode or escaped markup, preserving javascript: URIs in clickable output. Low-privilege comment access is sufficient, but another user must click the stored link; execution can expose that user's session or perform actions with that user's privileges.
