Root command execution via crafted data storage request
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
OS command injection in affected IO-Link masters before 1.7.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The /api/datastorage/data handler processes attacker-controlled GET-request data without safely neutralizing shell metacharacters before command execution. Administrator credentials and network access to the management API are required; successful exploitation grants root-level control of the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
