Root command execution via crafted DELETE request
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Command injection in affected IO-Link masters before 1.7.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via a crafted DELETE request. The /api/status/data handler processes crafted authenticated DELETE input in a way that injects operating-system commands; the exact parameter and command sink are undisclosed. Administrative credentials and network access to the device API are required, and successful exploitation grants root-level command execution on the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
