Administrator access via capability-field injection
Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026
Incorrect privilege assignment in WooCommerce Wholesale Lead Capture 2.0.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to become administrators. The wwlc_create_user AJAX handler accepts attacker-controlled WordPress capability fields during account creation and writes them into user metadata without restricting the assigned role. A reachable wholesale registration form and valid form nonce are required; no existing account or user interaction is needed, and success grants full WordPress administrator access.
