Authenticated server crash via unbounded ZIP expansion
Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026
Denial of service in Tandoor Recipes before 2.6.5 allows remote authenticated users to crash or hang the server via a crafted ZIP import. The create_from_zip function reads archive members fully into memory with myfile.read() without validating their expanded size. A standard account can submit a small, highly compressed archive that exhausts memory, triggers process termination, or leaves the service unresponsive.
