Editor-to-Administrator escalation via missing MCP authorization
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Privilege escalation in Meow Apps AI Engine 3.4.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with Editor access to gain administrator privileges. MCP OAuth authorization and bearer-token validation accept non-administrator accounts instead of enforcing the administrator capability. Editor access and a reachable MCP OAuth endpoint are required; exploitation exposes administrator-only MCP operations on the WordPress site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
